MichaelKapper.com is the professional website of Michael Carlson Kapper, PhD. It showcases my professional work, housing online materials for my courses, my professional portfolios, and other small minor details regarding my professional life. There is also some personal content, to better let you know who I am.
The site’s main navigation is through the links above; if you ever wonder where you are in the site, look for the yellow link in the main navigation. The paragraphs below decribe—briefly—the content you’ll find in each section of the site.
Courses. In this section, you will find descriptions of the courses I am currently teaching and have taught previously, as well as links to pdf versions of syllabi for these courses. You will need Adobe Reader to open the pdf files. There is also additional information relating to my current courses (Fall 2007, at present) available in html format.
Portfolios. This section houses my professional portfolios. It is important, these days, in nearly any profession, to keep representative and reflective records of our professional accomplishments; this section does just that. It is under construction and will eventually house my teaching, research, design, and photography portfolios. (Okay, I’m not a professional photographer, but I am a pretty good amateur.)
Vita. My curriculum vita (academic résumé). This key document in the life of any academic is presented here in both html and pdf formats (I could have styled the html for printing, but with a document as important as this, I really wanted to present my “real” print design, here, too.)
Schedule. Where am I and what am I up to? I’m glad you asked! Here you’ll find my general, weekly schedule (classes, office hours, etc.) as well as a link to my public events on my Google Calendar; this latter will let you know when I’m traveling and where, when events in my life are, and generally, what’s up with me.
